CHAR501: Advanced CHARMS & Spells
In this capstone-level course, students will continue to solidify and strengthen their magical abilities in the discipline of Charms. Students will work with some of the most powerful and complex magical spells in order to advance their faculties. Students in this course will also have more stringent requirements than in courses of lower levels.
Recommended Prerequisite: CHAR101 and CHAR301; it is not required to take the basic or intermediate classes, but it is recommended. If you are at least a 5th-year, you will not be turned away if you don't have a CHAR301 quill.
Years: 5th and up; 3rd- and 4th-years may take the class if they have a CHAR301 quill.

Spells that may be covered in CHAR501:
- Axelo – Conjures purple, zig-zagging lines from the wand that upon contact with the victim cause severe internal bleeding.
- Bulla Caput – Conjures a clear bubble full of oxygen around the casters head.
- Deletrius – Erases magical remnants of spells.
- Diminuendo – Shrinks the target.
- Engorgio Skullus – Hex that painfully enlarges the targets skull.
- Expecto Patronum – Uses the casters good memories to summon a defensive shield of light to protect them from Lethifolds and Dementors. Higher trained wizards can have their patronuses take the form of an animal; they can also be used to send messages.
- Expellimellius – Causes the targets clothes to spontaneously combust.
- Ferula – Creates a bandage and splint.
- Frangere Speculum – Breaks all the windows inside the curtain area of the caster.
- Gelata Cerebrum – Renders the target physically incapable of thinking.
- Gelata Digitis – Makes the targets fingers useless.
- Gemino – Creates a duplicate of a object.
- Ignus Ventis – Creates a storm of fire around the caster.
- Impervious – Protects the caster or a target from water, heat, and strong winds.
- Invisibillis – Can make targets (human, clothe, the such) invisible, however the spell is easily removed and can wear out over time.
- Lacarnum Inflamare – Sends a ball of fire from the wand.
- Levicorpus – Dangles the victim upside down by their ankles.
- Mimblewimble – Causes the victims tongue to roll into the back of their mouths.
- Mucus Impetum – Enlarges the targets bogies, gives them wings, and sets them about attacking another given target.
- Liberacorpus – Counter curse to Levicorpus.
- Reducto – Blows apart/back the target.
- Silencio – Silences the person cast on or the room of people depending on the power behind the spell.
- Vulnera Sanentur – Heals large gashes and wounds after sucking the blood back into the injured parties body.
