CHAR301: Intermediate Charms & Spells
Building on the knowledge earned in CHAR101, the Intermediate Charms course acts as the bridge between the basics and the advanced skills. In this course, you will strengthen what you know, as well as explore old ideas in new and different ways. You will be exposed to slightly more complex and difficult spells to continue your growth as a young witch or wizard.
Recommended Prerequisite: CHAR101; it is not required to take the basic class, but it is recommended. If you are at least a 3rd-year, you will not be turned away if you don't have a CHAR101 quill.
Years: 3rd and up; 2nd-years may take the class if they have a CHAR101 quill.

Spells that may be covered in CHAR301:
- Alarte Ascendare – Throws target or creature into the air.
- Anapneo – Clears the targets airway, if blocked.
- Aparecium – Cause invisible ink and objects to appear.
- Aqua Erecto – Conjures a jet of water from the tip of the casters wand and then can be controlled by the caster.
- Aresto Momentum – Causes falling target(s) to slow down and stop right before hitting the ground.
- Aurem Recusantem – Shrinks the targets ears.
- Bombarda – Causes a small explosion that can be used for precise destruction of certain items.
- Carpe Retractum – Wraps a rope around the target tightly and drags it to the caster.
- Descendo – Makes the target lower itself.
- Engorgio – Enlargens the target object or creature.
- Evanesco – Makes something vanish.
- Expulso – Makes the target explode.
- Glacium – Shoots out an icy mist that can freeze most objects it comes into contact with; melts just as fast or faster than regular ice.
- Hyacintho Ignis – Conjures blue flames that can be carried around in a jar.
- Illegilibus – Makes writing illegible.
- Incarcerous – Fires ropes that automatically bind around the target upon contact.
- Orchdieus – Conjures flowers from the tip of the casters wand.
- Petrificus Totalus – Locks the victim’s joints together.
- Quietus – Counter spell to Sonorus.
- Reducto – Counter spell to Engorgio.
- Relashio – Forces anything that is holding the target to let go.
- Riddikulus – Spell that changes the boggart into whatever image is inside the casters’ mind.
- Scourgify – Used to clean something.
- Sonorus – Magically amplifies the casters’ voice.
- Tergeo – A spell used to siphon liquid of a surface.
